Zika Virus Researcher Accidentally Infected

University of Pittsburgh officials say that a researcher at the school infected herself with the Zika Virus last month. The woman accidentally pricked herself with a needle in the process of conducting an experiment Ma 23rd and began experiencing symptoms 9 days later. The Allegheny County Health Department says the incident is unique because almost all the individuals in the united states who have contracted the virus were infected while traveling. There are only eleven confirmed cases of the virus in people who had not been traveling.
