For a brief moment in the early hours of Thursday, the area near and over the Tonto National Forest in Arizona became incredibly bright and rather loud. A particularly brilliant fireball entered the Earth’s atmosphere and proceeded to travel at a speed of 40,200 miles per hour.

A particularly brilliant fireball entered the Earth’s atmosphere and proceeded to travel at a speed of 40,200 miles per hour.
The light was intense enough to blind meteor cameras all the way to New Mexico.
There were also a number of sonic booms reported.
