Arijit Singh recently made headlines when he posted a dramatic apology letter to Salman Khan on Facebook and begged him publicly to retain his song Jag Ghumiya in his upcoming film Sultan.
In his apology letter, which he later deleted, Singh hinted that his song from Sultan was being removed as Khan was upset with him for insulting him at an awards function.
However, actor Nikhil Dwivedi, who is very close to Salman Khan, recently came out in support of Salman on Twitter. He wrote, "I m privy & Salman nt once interfered in d choice or askd 2remove any singer. He only refused 2meet Arijit. His wish!"
A tabloid today quoted a source saying that Salman isn't petty and that he didn't ask the makers to remove the song. It was producer Aditya Chopra and music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar's call.
In fact, reports also suggest that eversince Arijit, who has not sung for Khan yet, got to know that he would sing for Sultan, he started 'pestering' Salman to settle their old issue. Though Sallu turned down his request, he didn't remove his song.
