11-Year-Old Helps WW2 Veteran Celebrate Memorial Day in Most Beautiful Way

11-year-old Nicholas was very excited to play with his marching band in this year’s Memorial Day parade. It was supposed to be his parade debut as a trumpet player, but it was unfortunately cancelled due to bad weather. Nicholas was heartbroken that the veterans from the Second World War would not get their parade to honor their fallen comrades.

He, his mom and his dad decided to drive the parade route anyway, and they came across a woman and her dad wanting to know if the parade was still on. The woman informed them that her father, Chris Lannacone, was a veteran, who was left disabled after the Second World War. She said that her dad would be so disappointed about the cancellation. But Nicholas stepped in and saved the day, and played ’You’re a Grand Old Flag’ for him on his trumpet. Chris was delighted to be able to honor his fellow veterans, and Nicholas was thrilled to be able to help! Credit: YouTube/MaryDeGregorio
