Millions of locusts invade southern Russia

Shocking footage of a huge swarm of locusts invading an agricultural region of Dagestan, Russia.

The video, filmed this month, shows the Moroccon Locusts blackening the sky as the filmer's car passes beneath them.

The region is used to locust swarms, but it's particularly bad this year. According to the filmer, they "appeared at the end of April, a month earlier than usual."

He added: "The reason for this - a dry and mild winter this year and the cyclical development of the locust, which reaches a peak every eight-ten years."
