Zakia started snapping selfies with the protestors. She was so charming that many of the protestors even joined in the photos with her and were soon smiling and laughing. Zakia's method of disarming an otherwise unpleasant crowd was brilliant, and she told BBC that she did it because she wanted "to show that things can be different. And that we can live together, not next to each other but with each other."
