An unexplained mystery ailment causes residents of this village to continuously sleep.

What is causing residents of a small village in Khazakstan to mysteriously and continuously keep falling asleep for several days?

About four years ago in a small Khazakstan village named Kalachi, a woman spontaneously fell asleep for several days without reason, unable to be woken up. Within two years, the mysterious Sleeping Sickness would spread throughout the village earning it the nickname Sleepy Hollow, affecting more than 60 of the 600 villagers, usually on a recurring basis.

There is no known cause, although theories range from radioactive pollution to alien experimentation, and even mass psychosis.

Generally the Sleep Attacks are characterized by the otherwise healthy and well-rested person of any age, falling asleep suddenly in the middle of the day, at school, work or in the street. Victims claim dizzyness, inability to communicate or open their eyes, weakness, even hallucinations in some cases.

The condition persists for 2-4 days before they wake up in perfectly normal condition, as if nothing had happened.

Doctors and scientists remain baffled by this even today…just what could cause so many residents of a such a small village to be afflicted by this?
