Third time this year, a child was abducted on Friday in Jinnah Hospital as grandmother left the newborn for a couple of minutes to get medication.

Administration and security staff of the hospital have come under fire twice before over infants going missing.

Mushtaq, resident of Okara’s Basirpur had brought her wife to the hospital and his newly born child was kept in a ward. Grandmother of the child stated that she had gone to bring medication on doctor’s advice.

Mushtaq’s father has lodged a complaint seeking registration of a case in local police station while administration claimed that the culprit would be caught using CCTV footage.

In January, a five-year-old child who was kidnapped from the hospital was reunited with his parents after few hours.

Police had stated that 5-year-old Fahad went to the hospital with his mother Zuneira Iqbal. CCTV footage showed a woman abducting the child from outside the labour room and rushing out of the hospital.
