Srinagar, May 04 (ANI): The century-old paper machie ceiling of Diwan-i-Khas at Shalimar Garden in Srinagar is undergoing a makeover by the Indian National Trust of Art Culture and Heritages (INTACH) in collaboration with German embassy. Diwan-i-Khas, which is located on the fourth terrace of the garden, has as many as 120 fountains attract a large number of tourists. The Mughal gardens of Kashmir, including Shalimar garden, owe their origin to the concept of Islamic gardens spread over the world. The garden is also said to have been greatly influenced by Jahangir and gifted queen, Noor Jahan. The garden is also on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage site since 2010.
