Pahalgam, May 02 (ANI): The shrine of Sufi Saint Hazrat Zain-ud-Din Wali is located on a hillock in Aishmuqam village 20 kilometers away from Pahalgam. It attracts people from all religions. Hazrat Zain-ud-din Wali lived in the 15th century. He was born into the royal family of Kishtwar. He was later sent to Aishmuqam, where he spent the rest of his life promoting harmony and brotherhood. Hazrat Zain-ud-din was the disciple of the highly revered saint, Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani, whose sayings are celebrated widely. The major attraction of the Urs is a special torch ('Mashal') procession taken out to pay obeisance to the saint. During his Urs, about 10,000-20,000 visitors come here to pray. Devotees have internalized his message of peace and unity. People from different faiths come from far and near throughout the year to pay homage to the saint. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and others from all over the country unite on this day. The shrine is a perfect example of Kashmiriyat, which signifies celebrating a seamless co-existence of various cultures and religions.
