Nagpur, Apr 29 (ANI): With the taps, and even the wells running dry, residents of several drought-hit villages in Maharashtra toil hard to meet their water needs. In Degma village, the condition of villagers is particularly bad as they are forced to drink muddy water. Women in the village stand on the walls of the well to draw whatever little water is left in the muddy bottom of the well. Residents slammed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for ignoring their plight despite the village falling in his legislative constituency. Families, including children spend almost entire day trying to collect water. Residents brave cruel temperatures carrying crocks and other vessels as they walk long distance to fetch water.
