Bengaluru s 12-year-old Golden Voice to perform at New York s Carnegie Hall

Bengaluru, Apr 28 (ANI): A 12-year-old girl from Bengaluru has become a singing sensation of the United States and she would be singing at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City in October. Nilanjanaa Jayant, a class 8 student in Bengaluru, won the Golden Voices of America in the Jazz category. In March, she sent a recording of Frank Sinatra's popular jazz number "Fly me to the Moon" to the Golden Voices of America. Expressing joy, Nilanjanaa told ANI that she won the competition because her parents' encouragement and her trainer Ragini. While this venue has seen greats like Zakir Hussain, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma perform, this little girl will be the youngest performer at the Mecca of western classical singers. This little nightingale's mother said that she first started with Carnatic music but gelled well with western classical music.
