Unable to pay loan, farmer commits suicide in Punjab

Jagraon (Punjab), Apr 28 (ANI): A farmer, Baljinder Singh, from Jagraon district in Punjab committed suicide by drinking poison on Thursday. Giving details, villager Kawaljit Singh Khanna said Baljinder killed himself as he was unable to pay the loan. He added that the government should give compensation to the family of the deceased farmer. In-charge of Ghalib police station Nidhan Singh said they have handed over the body of the farmer to his family after the post-mortem, adding that the police are investigating the matter.
