Rhine Falls – Rheinfall , Switzerland / Schweiz , Schaffhausen
The largest water falls in Europe a great place to go right at the border Germany / Switzerland and easy to reach e.g. from the Black Forest. You can walk round and enjoy beautiful scenery from numerous viewing platforms or enjoy a boat trip that stops at the middle rock for you to expose yourself to the sounds and power of this natural attraction. I do not recommend to take very young children up to the rock. It is very crowded, stairs are narrow and difficult. All boat trips – and that is the only way to climb the rock – are leaving from Neuhausen. Enjoy some of my shots taken during one of these.
Castle Laufen and Schlössli Wörth are worth to go and you will find all sorts of entertainment, restaurants, playgrounds, relax areas, etc. to make the day – also for your children. (In the video you will listen to the original sound)
Der größte Wasserfall Europas an der deutsch-schweizerischen Grenze und schnell vom Schwarzwald aus zu erreichen. Umgeben von Spazierwegen mit unzähligen Aussichtsplattformen. Der imposanteste Eindruck entsteht m E im Rahmen einer Bootsfahrt, denn nur so kann man den Fels in der Mitte (auf den Bildern) erreichen und besteigen und die mächtige Naturgewalt dort auf sich einwirken lassen. Bootsfahren beginnen alle in Neuhausen und dort finden sich alle Arten von Unterhaltungs- und Rastmöglichkeiten, Alles für’s leibliche Wohl , Spielplätze – also auch schön für Kinder. Eine Anmerkung: die Besteigung des Felsens ist eng, steil und schwierig, da auch immer sehr überfüllt und für Kleinkinder nicht sehr geeignet.
