New Delhi/ Mumbai, Apr 26 (ANI): The Supreme Court rapped petitioners for challenging dance bars operating in Maharashtra. An appeal was filed against dance bars on the grounds that such establishments are “obscene”. The Supreme Court responded by saying it is better to dance than to beg on the street, a sentiment echoed by Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association. According to reports, around 1,200 establishments in the state have since applied for licences, out of which only 39 offered themselves for verification. The court has now fixed the matter for further hearing on May 10.
