Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is expected to be indicted Tuesday on allegations that he attacked his ex-girlfriend in January.
Manziel’s attorney Robert Hinson said prosecutors are set to make a formal announcement on Tuesday.
Colleen Crowley accused Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, of assaulting her in late January.
The grand jury was enlisted to hear the case against Manziel at the request of Dallas police.
Usually, grand juries in Dallas County only hear felony cases.
There have been no discussions about reaching a deal to end the case before trial.
Manziel was released in March after playing parts of two seasons for the Browns.
