PIKE COUNTY, OHIO — Police say they found marijuana grow operations at three of the four sites where eight family members were killed "execution-style" in Pike County, Ohio, on Friday.
The victims, ranging from 16 years old to 44 years old, were all members of the Rhoden family. Some were killed in their sleep and each person was shot in the head, ABC News reported. Hanna Rhoden, 29, was shot while in bed alongside her 4-day-old baby.
Two of the crime scenes in the Appalachian region of Ohio are within walking distance of each other. A third site is a mile away. Police discovered a body at a fourth residence eight miles away. Three of the homes had marijuana grow operations.
According to ABC News, no arrests have been made and police believe the killer, or killers, are still at large and armed. Preliminary investigations suggest none of the family members committed suicide.
Police have not suggested any motive for the killings. While marijuana was found at several of the crime scenes, there was no indication the murders were drug-related.
