New York, Apr 22 (ANI): Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal on Friday said coal will continue to play a major role in fulfilling India's energy needs. He said India's focus was on accomplishing its targets. Goyal's remarks came at a press conference in New York, the U.S., on the eve of 200 countries signing the agreement adopted at the Global Climate Summit in Paris last year. Submitting its plans ahead of the Paris Climate Summit in December 2015, India had promised to shave a third "off the rate" at which it emits greenhouse gases over the next 15 years.
