New Delhi, Apr 20 (ANI): In a move to curtail indecency and sedition, the Chandigarh administration on Wednesday decided to ban women wearing skirts with rising hemlines in discos and pubs. The decision, which was taken under the Controlling of Places of Public Amusement, 2016 policy, gives unprecedented powers to the police officials to deny renewal permission to the owners of such places. Expressing their concern on the decision, women activist Jagmati Sangwan said indecency doesn't have any relation with women's clothes, adding that patriarchal thoughts cannot be imposed like this. Meanwhile, another women activist Kavita Shrivastav termed the decision as disgusting, further questioning the officials that what is the definition is scantily dress?
