Barasat (WB), Apr 19 (ANI): A District and Sessions Judges Court on Tuesday announced death sentence to eight persons and awarded life term to one in connection with the murder case of a college student in 2014 in West Bengal's Pargana district. Shyamal Karmakar, Suman Sarkar, Suman Das, Amal Barui, Somnath Sardar, Tapas Biswas, Ratan Samaddar and Tarak Das were sentenced to death while Rakesh Burman has been given life sentence. The body of 21 year old Sourav Chowdhury, a student of Mrinalini Dutta College was found dead in mysterious circumstances following his abduction on July 5, 2014.
