Manipur, Apr 17 (ANI): The three-day 'Northeast-Asean Business Summit' in Imphal attracted some 144 delegates, many of them belonging to Southeast Asia. Held under the aegis of DoNER ministry and Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the event explored the investment opportunities available in Manipur and other northeastern states. Manipur is fast attracting investment in commerce and trade. During the event, the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) signed a MoU to strengthen the economic relations in the field of trade and commerce within the framework of existing bilateral relations between the two countries.They have also agreed to work for skill development, education, handicrafts and other sectors. The pact was signed in the presence of Bangladesh Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed. Northeast region, especially Manipur lies in a strategic points that connecting the East, South and South East Asian countries with India. Development of trade and commerce has become crucial at the outset of the Act East Policy.
