Chandigarh, Apr 15 : Education minister of Punjab Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema opposes the lifting of ban on pro-Khalistan International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) by the UK. Cheema strongly condemned the United Kingdom's move to remove a 15-year-old ban on the pro-Khalistan International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF). The minister states that if the organization is involved in terrorist activities then strict action should be taken against it. The issue of Khalistan does not feature in Punjab's priorities. There are several examples that prove that no one supports such issues. The International Sikh Youth Federation is banned under Indian, Canadian, Japanese and American anti-terrorism laws. The organisation was formed with an aim to establish an independent homeland for the Sikhs.
