Shimla, Apr 09 (ANI): Shimla saw a bevy of protestors in the Totu suburb protesting for water on the National Highway 88. Residents of the Totu suburb took to the streets demanding continuous water supply as there is water crises in the region. People have not received any water supply for past 10 days. They are alleging that the lawmakers are increasing their own salaries and perks and are not concerned about people’s welfare. The protestors have warned the authorities that they will block roads if their demands were not fulfilled. After holding the protest march on NH 88, local residents entered the office assistant engineer of Irrigation and Public Health Department (IPH). The Shimla Municipal Corporation is the water supplying agency in the capital city but the water is given to SMC by the IPH department and there is a lack of coordination between these two agencies.
