Penguins at the Detroit Zoo strutted down the blue carpet on April 7 to their new home, the Polk Penguin Conservation Center. The new center, which opens to the public on April 18, is being touted as the largest facility for penguins in the world. The center — 33,000-square-feet in total — boasts a 326,000-gallon, 25-foot-deep aquatic area for over 80 penguins to swim freely and for visitors to soak in the sight.
