If water crisis continues, surgery wards will have to be closed: Doctors

Latur (Maharashtra), Apr 08 (ANI): Severe drought condition in Maharashtra is leading to public health crisis, threatening the health of around five lakh people in Latur. Dr. Parag Narkhade of the Latur civil hospital said in the absence of water, the sanitary situation of the hospital has fallen badly and has become dangerous. Expressing his concern over the situation, he said if the water crisis continued, they would have to close the surgery wards. Rahul Makhnikar, an NCP corporator, said the condition of government hospitals is becoming miserable day-by-day. He said the civil hospital needs approximately 9000-10,000 litters of water, but they are getting only 4000 litres.
