Maharashtra, Apr 08 (ANI): Escorted by the state police, Trupti Desai-led Bhumata Brigade cadres offered prayer at the sanctum sanctorum of Shani Shingnapur temple in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district on Friday evening, breaking age-old tradition that prohibited women from entering the inner sanctum. Desai said it is an historic day and would create an atmosphere of gender equality in the society. Desai added that this is just a beginning and she will go to each and every temple’s inner sanctum to offer prayers.
