"Drive me – self-driving cars for sustainable mobility", is the world’s biggest large-scale pilot project in autonomous driving. It involves 100 self-driving Volvo cars which will be driven on public roads in Gothenburg in 2017. The aim is to study the benefits to society of self-driving cars such as road safety and lower CO2 emissions. It is a way for Volvo Cars to develop its technology to be a leader in sustainable mobility. Self-driving cars are viewed by the Swedish government and by Volvo Cars as an important solution in achieving the vision of zero fatalities in traffic.
