India recalls great deeds of Begum Hazrat Mahal

Kathmandu, Apr 07 (ANI): Begum Hazarat Mahal, who had rebelled against the British colonial rule in 1857, was remembered on her 137th death anniversary. In Kathmandu, the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, laid the wreath at the tomb of Begum Hazrat Mahal in Jame Masjid and recalled her contribution in the freedom struggle of India. Begum of Awadh and the first wife of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, she died on April 7 1879 during her refuge in Nepal.
