Gorakhpur, Apr 07 (ANI): Dozens of villagers in Gorakhpur district protested by standing in the waist-deep waters of Rapti river on Wednesday, demanding construction of a concrete bridge. The protesters say the concrete bridge over the river will connect around 200 villages to the northern Azamgarh and Varanasi cities. Currently, a shaky wooden bridge is the only way through which they can commute in the area. The villagers alleged they had been protesting for the last three days, but none of the officials had paid a visit to them. Govind Kumar Yadav, a villager, said they will commit suicide if the authorities did not meet their demands.
