To bad you did not mention what kind of a stain it's / what caused this stain. This way I would have been able to help you out a little more..However, I still had a copy of my old website page, explaining how one can remove some stains.
I would suggest to have gotten cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner, as they will get much more done the you may at home.
