HRD Ministry releases list of India Rankings 2016

New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): The Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister led by Union Minister Smriti Irani on Monday released India's first ever domestic educational ranking list. The HRD Ministry unveiled a first-of-its-kind indigenous ranking framework for higher education institutions, in response to global rankings. Divulging details, Irani said the new ranking framework has been drafted to provide “an Indian context to educational aspirations and needs”. She added that it will help institutions that conduct research in languages other than English and are focused on inclusive education. The minister further said the government aims to come out with the first round of ranking before the next academic year.
