Purulia (WB), Apr 04 (ANI): Around 850 villagers in West Bengal called for a poll boycott in the region. The voters from Chiruvita and Pialsol villages protested in Purulia district on Sunday demanding solutions to water scarcity and poor condition of roads. They shouted slogans and threatened to boycott the state elections if their demands are not met. When asked about their problems in detail, one of the area resident Kanika Sen added, "The roads are littered with garbage and there are a lot of potholes. It is hard to ride bicycles and other vehicles. That's why people from our area have gathered." People in 18 of the 294 constituencies in West Bengal casted their votes today in the first of six phases.
