A new study out of Canada has determined that incorporating a category called pulses--which are lentils, beans, and similar foods--into one’s diet can lead to a reduction in weight that is modest but seems to stay off.
Weight loss can be hard to achieve, but a new study has identified a dietary change that could help.
The research led by Dr. Russell de Souza of St. Michael’s Hospital in Canada has concluded, according to a press release, that “eating one serving a day of beans, peas, chickpeas or lentils could contribute to modest weight loss.”
More specifically, consuming about 3/4 cup of these foods daily for six weeks has been shown to result in a reduction of around three-quarters of a pound.
