NIA says attack on its officer in UP deliberate

Noida, Apr 03 (ANI): National Investigation Agency (NIA) Inspector General Sanjiv Kumar Singh on Sunday said that the murder of the agency's Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tanzil on Saturday night was a planned one. Tanzil and his wife were shot at point blank range by motorcycle-riding assailants as they were heading home after attending a wedding in Bijnor District of Uttar Pradesh. While Tanzil died on the spot, his wife Farzana is said to be in critical condition at the Fortis Hospital in Noida. The NIA has sent a team from Delhi to collect Tanzil's body from the hospital in Moradabad. It will also assist Uttar Pradesh Police and other investigative agencies to probe the murder.
