FDA eases requirements on abortion pill

2016-03-30 0

The FDA approved a request by Danco Laboratories Wednesday to expand authorized use of its abortion pill Mifeprex.
The changes include dosage decreases, reduction in the number of trips to the doctor, permission to use the treatment up to 70 days into pregnancy, and relaxes prescriber guidelines.
Medical practices will not change for most abortion patients, as doctors have been legally steering away from old FDA protocol based on new research.
The label change is effective immediately.
