I actually found this a pretty tough race, largely because the car proved quite difficult to set up and handle. Whilst I intended to drive conservatively in the early laps to prolong tyre life, I found myself having to drive pretty close to the limits of the car's grip just to maintain my place mid pack.
Whilst it may appear from the video that I was just cruising, each turn was actually a battle to keep the car from sliding out and I was unable to make any inroads into the cars ahead of me. With the pressure from the Mercedes tag team who were right behind me throughout the race, I also had to drive defensively on every turn.
My settings for this race make it a very different animal from most of the YouTube gameplay videos I've seen, where gamers are running for only 8 minutes with visual only damage, all driving assists on and liberal use of flashbacks which pretty much removes any real challenge for the player. It also effectively removes the need for tyre management and driving skill altogether. If you wish to replicate this race - race length was X2, difficulty was hard, all assists off except ABS and racing line, full damage and no flashbacks. This will make the racing far more challenging, enjoyable and ultimately rewarding.
