Kaziranga, Mar 30 (ANI): To save the vulnerable rhinoceroses, the forest department of the Assam Government has launched a programme to translocate the one-horned mammals from the Kaziranga National Park to safer habitats. The programme 'Indian Rhino Vision 2020' is a joint effort by the Assam forest department, the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) and the International Rhino Foundation (IRF) to increase the population of rhinos by at least 3000 by 2020 in seven protected areas of the state. On Tuesday morning, one adult female and her calf were captured from the Bagori Forest Range of the Kaziranga National Park and released in the Burachapori Wildlife Sanctuary. The rhinos released in the Burachapori would be under close supervision of 50 armed security personnel deployed in the region.
