Prince Haruna Momoh co-founded the Gas to Health Initiative (GTHI) in 2013, along with other key stake holders in the Nigerian oil and gas market. In this episode of the NGO’s Cook to Live programme, he talks about the health and economic benefits of using LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) for cooking. In terms of the economic benefits, Prince Haruna Momoh highlights that the calorific value of LPG, in comparison to traditional cooking fuels, is significantly higher. This clean fuel is also much cheaper than kerosene, a commonly used fuel in Nigeria. The GTHI was formed to promote the use of LPG across Nigeria. It works to educate the Nigerian populace on the benefits of switching from traditional fuels to LPG.
