Religion is increasingly becoming a hotbed issue in America, but, according to a recent study, fewer of the nation’s people are actually practicing a faith than ever before.

Religion is increasingly becoming a hotbed issue in America, but, according to a San Diego State University-led research, fewer of the nation’s people are actually practicing a faith than ever before.

The new study shows that between the 1980s and 2014, the number of Americans who said they don’t pray increased 5 times. 

In that same period, twice as many people said they don’t believe in God. 

That information was gleaned through an analysis of data from the General Social Survey, which involved nearly 60,000 participants and was conducted from 1972 to 2014.
