FUBI FIXIE: TRANSFORM YOUR BIKE INTO A FOLDING BIKE
The concept
The idea with FUBi fixie is to replace the existing frame of your bike with a folding one. With the affordable FUBi fixie folding frame you get a folding bike that has the same riding features and looks as before and with the added advantage of foldability
The bike is a folding single-speed, or a fixed-gear bike featuring geometry, performance, design and price of a normal bike! The frame is designed with minimal changes to the common diamond frame design. Right now we are focusing on a single speed bike, but we plan to make the concept available for gear bikes in the future.
Transform your bike into a folding bike
FUBi uses standard parts with the exception of the frame. Riders desiring an upgrade to their existing bike only need to purchase the frame to turn it into a folding bicycle.
Single-speed or fixed gear
The rear wheel hub is equipped with a freewheeling besides a fixed cog. It is the rider´s option to choose between the two options, as well decide whether they want to add a rear wheel break as addition to the bike’s equipment. Using it as a fixie or a single-speed bike is a quick swap.
Folds smarter
No tools are required in folding a FUBI, which folded remains a single piece. When folded, it can be rolled or strolled, easing handling and transportation. It fits easily into a trunk of a car. Saves space at home or office.
Secure locking
Lock FUBi securely onto a traffic sign pole or similar posts. Align front and back wheels around a pole, locking them all up with a single U-lock
Incredible riding performance
Fixie rider’s concern for the rigidness of the frame and for the overall safety of the bike is our concern as well. FUBi fixie has been built with keeping those issues in mind. Its design is based on the patented FUBi technology which is tested during the past decade. The frame uses the triangular principle and loose free pivots. The bike uses a specially designed two-way locking mechanism that guarantees that the frame stays locked, essentially becoming a single solid frame piece.
The Crowdfunding
The FUBi team plans to launch the product through a Kickstarter campaign in the beginning of 2016. Making it available at about 250 € price tag for the frame including front fork and at 450-499 € for the whole bicycle, depending on the selected options. FUBi has partnered with a bicycle manufacturer to ensure the good quality and reliable product deliveries. It will be available in three different frame sizes: 52, 55 and 59 cm

About the Founders
Fubicom was founded in 2006 by Ulf Laxström. He has developed FUBi compact folding and other bicycle related innovations. He has over 20 years of experience in design and construction. He has over 10 years of experience in building folding bikes
FUBi fixie is a design of Zakarias Laxström. He has been on the FUBi team from its beginning. Zakarias has over six years of experience in different folding bike concepts and is also a professional welder and automation expert.
