Assam CM Tarun Gogoi files nomination from Titabar

Jorhat (Assam), Mar 19 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi filed his nomination papers from the Titabor Assembly constituency, seeking re-election for the fourth consecutive term, on the last date of filing nominations for the first phase of polls scheduled on April 4. A large number of Congress leaders, workers and supporters escorted Gogoi to the sub-division office in Titabar where he filed his nomination papers. Dolly Gogoi, Chief Minister's wife accompanied him. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Lok Sabha MP from Jorhat district Kamakhya Prasad Tasa against Gogoi. Tasa also filed his nomination papers on Friday in Titabar. Assam has a 126-member legislative assembly. Polling for 65 constituencies will take place on April 4 and for 61 constituencies on April 11.
