The last known surviving suspect in the deadly November Paris terror attacks that killed 130 people has been captured alive, Belgian police confirmed Friday.
Salah Abdeslam was taken into custody wounded, but alive, after a raid in the Molenbeek neighborhood in Brussels.
"We got him," Belgium's Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration, Theo Francken, said on Twitter.
Several exchanges of gunfire rang out in the city's Molenbeek area - the scene of past investigations into the Paris attacks - and police officers were seen surrounding an apartment block there.
Friday's caputure of Abdeslam comes after Belgian authorities say they found his fingerprints in an apartment raided earlier this week in another Brussels neighborhood.
