Ranchi, Mar 16 (ANI): A herd of elephants went on a rampage in a village in Chhattisgarh’s Ranchi district, damaging crops and houses. The jumbos trampled over paddy crops of villagers and caused extensive damage to houses. The herd attacked late at night when the villagers were fast asleep. Barks of stray dogs in the village woke up the residents, who, then ran for cover.
The local administration assured villagers of immediate compensations for damaged houses and other things like torches and crackers for chasing away the elephants next time.
