New Delhi, Mar 15 (ANI): Soft chants, with mellow beats of tabla along with the melodious sounds of the stringed instruments, spread an atmosphere of calm among the devotees. Gurbani refers to the holy scriptures in Sikhism, or the word of Guru Granth Sahib. It is believed that Gurbani is a source of truth with which the internal filth and sins get eradicated. It is not restricted only to the people of Sikh religion. 'Gurbani Samagam', a three-day musical affair on the spiritual revelations of the eternal Sikh Guru, was recently held in the capital city, New Delhi. It presented a picture of religious harmony, as the stage was taken over by the qawwals, who presented their rendition of the 'Shabads' or Hymns of the Sikh Scriptures. Qawwali refers to a style of Muslim devotional music that is associated particularly with Sufis. The audience enjoyed the serenity and positivity that emanated from the musical notes performed by the artists. The Sikh tradition of Gurbani, helps to bring people of all faiths under one roof and celebrate oneness.
