The story of the man who fled Nazi Germany and took on a new identity to join RAF Bomber Command.

Peter was born Georg Franz Heim to a German Jewish family in Hanover in 1919 . His parents sent him as a refugee to the UK in 1934 where he attended the Regent's Street Polytechnic in London (now part of the University of Westminster).

To join the RAF Peter stole the identity of a dead school friend - P.D. Stevens. He later became a bomber pilot in WW2 & won the military cross.
