Bodies of two IAF personnel who drowned in river Ravi recovered

Chamba (HP), Mar 06 (ANI): The bodies of two Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel from the Pathankot airbase, who were drowned after the sudden rise of water level in the Ravi river near Chamba town on Saturday evening, were fished out on Sunday. The Victims have been identified as corporal Shakti Singh, 30, of Jaipur in Rajasthan, and Corporal Nitesh Mishra, 26, from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. According to police, it is suspected that the airmen did not hear the siren blown by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) authorities. While three other airmen, Naval Pandey, Naveen Sharma and Gajender Singh, were admitted to the Chamba Civil Hospital. Chamba Superintendent of Police Virendra Tomar on Sunday said the bodies were fished out today (on Sunday), and have been sent for post-mortem. He further said once the reports were out, police would initiate actions.
