Id Software. The makers of legendary and controversial series like Doom and Quake have brought PC gaming to new levels on numerous occasions. In this first part of The History of ID SOFTWARE, we talk about how John Carmack, John Romero, Tom Hall and Adrian Carmack made their first smash hit with the help of Scott Miller from Apogee and his revolutionary shareware business model, broke free from the shackles of their former employer Softdisk and eventually founded id Software.\r
