1985 Bazooka (Missile Specialist) G.I. Joe review

2016-03-05 1

This is a review of the GI Joe teams second anti-tank missile man, Bazooka. He is very distinct from his forerunner Zap, by wearing a bright red football #14 jersey. He was first released in 1985 and re-released in 1986. The figure was also made available for mail-order by Hasbro starting 1988. Many collectors and sites point out that there was a variant where Bazooka came with a M73LAWS (an accessory designed for 1985 Footloose). I don't believe this to be true, as in 20+ years of collecting, I have never seen a sealed example. Possibly a packaging error (it does happen) but not a true variant if it's so rare that NO ONE has a photo. Many collectors dislike this figure unfairly for his dumb/comedic portrayal in the Sunbow animated cartoon. The filecard reads a very different and motivated character.
