I worked for "Compact Disc Count" on Pico and Overland for years. Derek started coming in the store and we all loved him because he is larger than life. We hung out, went to a "Merciful Fate" reunion show together (I have that somewhere it's great) and were good friends. Notice how the call waiting keeps interrupting the tape. My friends were calling me over and over because I was late for practice. I had to share the Derek experience with my Buds, they had no idea. We enjoyed it for a long time and I wish I knew how to contact the man. Sean Kelly, a bass player in an old Hollywood band really dug it. So much so that when he was working at Sub Pop years later he rung me in San Francisco where I had moved. He wanted to shop it after many years. I had Dennis Worden (creator of Stickboy comics) do some designs. Sub Pop passed. I came back to N.C. I hear after a very long time that Found had bought the thing and Davey from found and Quack had an animated thing to go with it. I was happy to see that people actually understood and see what I love about Derek. I wish Sean or "Tight Bros from way Back" had contacted me about selling my work. That's my only gripe. Peace, Kurt Moss
