Coimbatore, Mar 02 (ANI): A wild elephant went on a rampage on Wednesday, damaging compound walls of a residential area, besides destroying vessels and eating tamarinds from households in Tamil Nadu. The elephant created menace in a village of Coimbatore district. Residents are irked due to the inaction of the forest department on frequent rampages by wild elephants in the village. An elephant has been creating menace in the area for the past 15 days. Today, it entered our house and damaged vessels, walls and ate tamarinds. When we came to know about it, we burst crackers, but the elephant did not respond to it. Later on, it went inside the forest. In a somewhat similar incident, a wild elephant went on a rampage in a village in West Bengal earlier this month, damaging around 100 structures.
